Yitzhar faces Har Bracha on a neighboring hillside with Itamar and Elon Moreh just across the highway. These hillsides are covered in natural alon and olive trees. At 800 meters above sea level, the location affords a phenomenal view of the hundreds of ravens and doves which appear annual at the “Well of the Birds” and many bird watchers are attracted every year to this event

110 families live in Yitzhar as part of an exceptionally cohesive Torah observant group. While the majority of families are native-born Israelis, some olim from various countries are also among Yitzhar residents. Some of the fields of endeavor are education, art, hi-tech, rabbis and blue collar workers

Over 50 children are cared for in the community day care center. Aside from the traditional kindergartens, there is a Chabad kindergarten for ages 3-5. Children in the first through fourth grades learn by the Zilberman method while children from fifth through eighth grade learn in neighboring Itamar or Elon Moreh

High School students have a large variety of schools in the area from which to choose. For those who want to learn only religious studies, there is a small yeshiva high school in Yitzhar, a yeshiva gevoha and a Kollel under the supervision of Rabbi David Dudkevitch

In the central synagogue there is a nusach Chabad minyan and a vatikin minyan. During the holidays there is also a nusach sepharad minyan
