SHVUT RAHEL

The religious community village of Shvut Rahel was established in 1991 in memory of Rahel Druk, hy"d, who was murdered by terrorists on a bus traveling to a demonstration in Tel Aviv.

 

85 families between the ages of 18-40 make their home in Shvut Rahel focusing on Jewish education, agriculture and a healthy lifestyle. They work in a wide variety of fields including, hi-tech, education, construction, industry and more.

 

Pre-schoolers are provided with warm care and early development in the centers and kindergartens in the community while elementary age children are provided with transportation daily to neighboring Shilo, just minutes away.

 

A Girls Midrasha, with an average off 35 young women enrolled annually, provides an adopting family for each student while they strengthen their Jewish learning and values.

 

A variety of extracurricular activities are available for resident children including, music, Talmud Torah, soccer, aerobics, folk dancing and the martial arts. The community Rabbi supervises the Oz Youth Group activities.

 

Community facilities include a synagogue, mikveh, library, gym, grocery store and medical clinic.

 

Egged Lines 473 and 474 travel to and from Jerusalem frequently during the day.
