KARMEI TSUR

Located in Gush Etzion, this religious community of 120 families between the ages of 20-45 includes native-born Israelis from all over Israel and olim from all over the world, including Peru, The United States and France. They make their living from a variety of fields, among them education, law, insurance, medicine and computers.

 

There is a day care center and two kindergarten groups in the community with elementary school age children choosing from area schools in Kiryat Arba, Gush Etzion and Efrat and organized transportation available to each. High school choices include Kiryat Arba, Alon Shvut and Efrat.

 

Extracurricular activities include sports, karate, drama, drawing and many others for children, aerobics and pottery for women and cultural evenings organized by the activities director of the community from time to time.

 

Bnei Akiva also provides activities regularly.

 

During the week there is one minyan in the community synagogue but on Shabbat there is a nusach sephard minyan and two nusach ashkenaz minyanim. Torah classes are offered during the week in the Beit Midrash and there is a mikve for men and for women.

 

Among the community facilities are a grocery store, medical clinic and library with a swimming pool nearby in Alon Shvut.

 

 

Directions:There is public transportation to Karmei Tsur from Jerusalem and Kiryat Arba.
