NOKDIM EL-DAVID

Nokdim El David was established by Tekoa residents in memory of two residents killed by terrorism/in battle.

135 families between the ages of 22-50 make their homes in this integrated religious-secular community village just 5 minutes from Tekoa in the Gush Etzion Region.

Pre-schoolers are lovingly cared for in the community day care centers and guided through childhood development in the Nokdim kindergartens. They continue on to elementary school in Tekoa, Alon Shvut or Efrat.

High School teens travel to area high schools or to Jerusalem according to their choice.

In addition to weekly Bnei Akiva activities, extracurricular activities for young people include carpentry, cooking, nature, ballet, judo, carpentry, ceramics, jamboree and more. There is also an active teen center.

Adults enjoy a wide variety of religious classes including Emuna, Halacha, "Mesilat Yesharim" and others. Art and exercise groups are available for women.

In addition to the minyan in the community synagogue, there is a minyan in the local Mechina (pre-army preparation program), which offers a program of study pre and post army.

Community facilities include a gym, library and grocery store. While the medical clinic is located in Tekoa, there are a number of doctors and other medical personnel in Nokdim who offer services in conjunction with national health insurance.

Egged Line 166 travels to Nokdim approximately 8 times daily.
